Dr. Tyrus Frerking

Dr. Geetha Ramaswamy was always inspired by her uncle, who practiced family medicine for more than 40 years. When she decided to attend medical school, she knew early on that she wanted to focus on cardiology because of the ever-evolving nature of the field. Dr. Ramaswamy is an interventional cardiologist with subspecialty board certification in adult echocardiology and nuclear cardiology. She is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and has been serving the heart and vascular needs of patients since 2006. After serving North Texas communities for several years, Dr. Ramaswamy spent more than a decade in Northern Arkansas as a trailblazer in the fields of radial interventional cardiology, women’s heart care and heart valve treatments. She returned to the DFW area in 2021 to continue her work in interventional/structural cardiology.Dr. Ramaswamy earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Chennai Medical College in India. She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. Dr. Ramaswamy completed her clinical cardiology fellowship at Barnes-Jewish Hospital-Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Mo.She is also fellowship trained in advanced nuclear cardiology and interventional cardiology through Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Conn.Dr. Ramaswamy is fluent in the Tamil and Hindi languages. When not with her patients, she enjoys meditating and the practice of yoga to strengthen not only her physical being but also for the mental strength and emotional balance they provide. Brendan Reagan, M.D., is originally from Ruston, La. He obtained his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering from Texas A&M University and and his medical degree from Louisiana State University at New Orleans, where he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his internal medicine residency and general cardiology fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn. He stayed an additional year at Vanderbilt to receive formal training in coronary and peripheral vascular intervention.Reagan is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease. His clinical interests include general cardiology, coronary interventions with a special interest in transradial access (cardiac cath performed via artery in the wrist instead of more traditional femoral artery), and peripheral interventions.Reagan is married and has four children. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, running, reading, and watching or playing most sports. Dr. Sukesh Burjonroppa has cared for North Texas hearts since 2010. Prior to that time, he spent years in Galveston, Texas, serving as an assistant professor of medicine, director of Peripheral Vascular Interventions and assistant director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab for The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He is fellowship-trained in cardiology and interventional cardiology. Dr. Burjonroppa specializes in interventions for structural heart and valvular disease, including heart failure, coronary artery disease, HCM, congenital heart disease, valvular heart disease and peripheral vascular disease. He performed the first transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) for critical aortic stenosis in 2015 at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth and has been involved in over 600 TAVR procedures, including complex valve-in-valve and alternative access TAVR in collaboration with surgical colleagues. Dr. Burjonroppa performs mitral valve repair with MitraClip as well as percutaneous transcatheter mitral valve replacement in appropriately vetted patients. Additionally, he performs transradial catheterization and has conducted over 60 courses to train physicians on the procedure and other advanced techniques to treat cardiovascular and peripheral vascular disease. Dr. Burjonroppa currently serves as an assistant professor in the TCU School of Medicine in Fort Worth and as physician co-lead of the Heart and Valve program at Texas Health Fort Worth. He also is the principal investigator for the randomized double-blind trial EXPAND TAVR for treating patients with symptomatic moderate aortic stenosis early in their clinical course versus medical management. He is the recipient of the Young Investigator award from the American College of Cardiology for his work on Rescue PCI (percutaneous coronary intervention) going back to 2011.Dr. Burjonroppa earned his medical degree in Bangalore, India. In 2000, he set down roots in the United States to pursue his internal medicine residency at Mercy Catholic Medical Center, affiliated with the MCP-Hahnemann University School of Medicine, in Philadelphia, Pa. He completed his cardiology fellowship at the UT Health Science Center in Houston before going on to complete his interventional cardiology fellowship at the University of California San Francisco. Dr. Burjonroppa is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. He holds additional certifications in cardiology, interventional cardiology, nuclear cardiology, vascular medicine and endovascular medicine.
