Dr. Tyrus Frerking

Dr. Geetha Ramaswamy was always inspired by her uncle, who practiced family medicine for more than 40 years. When she decided to attend medical school, she knew early on that she wanted to focus on cardiology because of the ever-evolving nature of the field. Dr. Ramaswamy is an interventional cardiologist with subspecialty board certification in adult echocardiology and nuclear cardiology. She is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and has been serving the heart and vascular needs of patients since 2006. After serving North Texas communities for several years, Dr. Ramaswamy spent more than a decade in Northern Arkansas as a trailblazer in the fields of radial interventional cardiology, women’s heart care and heart valve treatments. She returned to the DFW area in 2021 to continue her work in interventional/structural cardiology.Dr. Ramaswamy earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Chennai Medical College in India. She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. Dr. Ramaswamy completed her clinical cardiology fellowship at Barnes-Jewish Hospital-Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Mo.She is also fellowship trained in advanced nuclear cardiology and interventional cardiology through Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Conn.Dr. Ramaswamy is fluent in the Tamil and Hindi languages. When not with her patients, she enjoys meditating and the practice of yoga to strengthen not only her physical being but also for the mental strength and emotional balance they provide. Dr. Gurpreet (Gary) Baweja has been caring for patients’ hearts as a board-certified interventional cardiologist since 1998 and has been a trusted resource in the Fort Worth community since 2007. He has additional training and board certification in cardiovascular diseases, nuclear cardiology, and echocardiography. Dr. Baweja received advanced cardiac imaging training, including Level III certification in echocardiography (essential training required to be a clinical lab director) and cardiac CT. He is also board-eligible in vascular medicine to perform endovascular procedures.Dr. Baweja currently holds several leadership positions within Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth, including chairman of Cardiovascular Services, director of Invasive Cardiology and the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, and cardiology sub-specialty director for the hospital’s Internal Medicine Residency Program. He is an active participant and lead investigator in trials involving cardiovascular disease, medications, and devices. His clinical expertise includes cardiac catheterization, complex percutaneous coronary and peripheral endovascular interventions, carotid stenting, left atrial closures using the Watchman procedure, and PFO/ASD closures. Dr. Baweja earned his medical degree from King George’s Medical College in India. He completed his internal medicine residency at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, N.Y., and his fellowship training in cardiovascular diseases and interventional cardiology at the University of Arizona Sarver Heart Center in Tucson. Dr. Baweja is a Fellow of the American Society of Echocardiography, American College of Cardiology, and Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. Away from the office, he enjoys spending time with his family, exploring new destinations as a globe-trotting traveler, and perfecting his swing as an avid golfer. He has been involved in multiple research trials both in echocardiography and impedance cardiography. He is an expert in 3-D echocardiography. Dr. Le is also trained in vascular imaging and CT imaging. Dr. Le also provides expertise in rhythm management and pacemaker implants. He is a testamur of the North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology (NASPE).Dr. Le has a strong philosophy concerning a balanced life and applies this in his practice and focus in preventive and general cardiology. Raising five kids with his wife, he truly understands the demands that patients have in their lives and makes every effort to balance that with the latest cutting-edge therapy in cardiovascular care, whether that is through medications or, if necessary, invasive and interventional procedures. Aside from his practice and family, Dr. Le has managed to complete his MBA program from the University of Texas, Dallas, graduating with high honors and receiving the Beta Gamma Sigma honor. He has applied this skillset in his leadership positions in the local hospitals and Texas Health system. He has also managed to help start up a free medical clinic in his church and served as the medical director.
