I couldn't be more thrilled to be practicing Pediatrics on the Central Coast. I easily fell in love with the area while attending Cal Poly, and although medical school relocated my husband and I to Los Angeles, we were certain we'd return to the area.Developing close relationships with families and watching my patients grow are my favorite aspects of being a pediatrician. It is especially rewarding to begin care from the first moments of a child's life. While enjoying all ages, I have a special interest in adolescents, as I feel they truly need an advocate during a time of such rapid physical, social and emotional growth. I look forward to starting new relationships with my patients and their families as I start my practice in San Luis Obispo.After completing medical school at the University of Southern California, Residency at Harbor UCLA Medical Center, and a Chief Resident year, also at Harbor UCLA, we couldn't wait to move back up north.We aim to deliver thoughtful, individualized and evidence based medical care for your child. Dr. Trout, a SLO native, attended medical school at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans and completed her Pediatric Residency at Seattle Children’s Hospital. After a decade away from the Central Coast, she is delighted to return home to serve the local community and raise her children surrounded by family and friends. As a pediatrician, Dr. Trout finds joy in providing care through every stage of a child’s development, from newborn to adolescent. She loves forming bonds with patients and their caregivers over time, and values working collaboratively with families to help children thrive. She has experience with a wide range of health conditions and provides comprehensive and compassionate care with clear communication.
