Dr. Kathy Ravanbakhsh

A native of South Korea and raised in Chicago since age nine, Dr. Kathy Ravanbakhsh says her childhood dream was to become a physician. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and her medical degree from Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois. As St. Joseph Health's Chief of Urology Surgery since 2015, Dr. Ravanbakhsh said it is rewarding to see patients improve and heal despite the tough and vulnerable times many patients experience. She values the team approach at St. Joseph Health and the importance placed on every individual's role in patient care from beginning to end. Dr. Ravanbakhsh areas of interest include oncologic (cancer) surgery, male voiding dysfunction and kidney stone treatment. She has been married since 1998 and is a mother to two children.
