Eyelid surgeries include surgeries for drooping eyelids, extra eyelid skin and heavy eyebrows for both functionally reconstructive and cosmetic reasons. Dr. Mahoney received his M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania and completed his ophthalmology residency at the Scheie Eye Institute, Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He then completed additional specialty training as an American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) fellow at the Wilmer Eye Institute and Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Mahoney joined the Wilmer faculty in 2012. He has held various administrative responsibilities and is currently the Vice Chair of Information Technology & Data Science for the Department of Ophthalmology.
