Overview
Dr. Prasad Garimella is originally from Atmakur, India. He graduated with honors from Kurnool Medical College, subsequently completing his residency in Internal Medicine at Weiss Memorial Hospital, University of Chicago. He earned his fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine from Cook County Hospital and his fellowship in Sleep Medicine from Rush University Hospital, Chicago.
Since 2004, Dr. Prasad Garimella has been part of Gwinnett Pulmonary Group, providing comprehensive and compassionate care to patients. He is Board Certified in Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine and Sleep Medicine and is a fellow of American College of Chest Physicians and American Association of Sleep Medicine. He is a Clinical Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at Georgia Campus of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is also currently serving as the Chief of Department of Medicine, at Gwinnett Hospital System. Dr. Garimella is well respected amongst his peers as an outstanding clinician in Critical Care, as well as outpatient setting.
He specializes in diagnosing and treating patients with Lung Cancer, COPD, Asthma and Sleep Apnea. He has particular expertise in Electro Navigational Bronchoscopy and Endobronchial Ultrasound Bronchoscopy.

Vijay M. Patel, MD, FCCP, earned his medical degree from the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, Illinois. He completed his internal medicine internship and residency at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. Following his residency, Dr. Patel completed a pulmonary and critical care medicine fellowship and Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Patel is board certified in pulmonary medicine and internal medicine. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians Group, Dr. Patel was in practice at PAPP Clinic. His special interests include sleep disorders, asthma, emphysema, chronic bronchitis, lung disorder, bronchoscopy, thoracentesis and pulmonary function tests. Dr. Patel is a member of the American College of Physicians, the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the American College of Chest Physicians and the American Thoracic Society.
