
Overview
Eileen Sheehy-Milano,MD is an attending physician based at the Monter Cancer Center where she has special interests in breast cancer and gastrointestinal cancer. Board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology, she maintains an active practice where she focuses on compassionate, personalized, evidence based multi-disciplinary care. Prior to moving her practice to the Monter Cancer Center, Dr. Sheehy-Milano practiced for 25 years at Northwell Glen Cove Hospital. She earned her medical degree at the Jefferson College for Health Professions in Philadelphia,Pennsylvania. She trained in Internal Medicine at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, Connecticut with a chief residency year as part of the U. Conn. health system. She completed a fellowship in Medical Oncology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. An active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Medical Association, Dr. Sheehy-Milano is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.

He is an investigator on cancer control studies, studies for the treatment of cancer of the pancreas as well as squamous cancer of the skin. In prior studies, Dr. Savona has addressed issues such as tobacco dependency and smoking cessation, redeveloping life styles and physical activity levels after completion of chemotherapy, the prevention of infections in patients with impaired immunity and prevention of hot flashes in patients on hormonal therapy. Dr. Savona earned his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine. He completed both his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in Medical Oncology/Hematology at New York University Medical Center. Dr. Savona is an active member of the American Society of Hematology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
