Prior to establishing Advanced Foot & Ankle Specialists of Arizona in 1998, he was a part of several other organizations. He completed two years of surgical residency at the Western Medical Trauma Center in Santa Ana and spent three years looking after the feet of freedom fighters of the United States Air Force in Fairfield, California.When Dr. Su isn't in the office providing great care for your feet, he spends his time with wife, Jennifer, sons Blake and Scott, and daughter Kellie. Dr. Newswander born in Utah,  began his studies as a pre-med student at Utah State University.After graduating, he pursued his interest podiatry at the California College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Newswander completed a residency at Carl T. Hayden VA Hospital in Phoenix and opened his own practice in 2003. His research has been featured in numerous medical publications, and in several presentations and lectures around the state.Dr. Newswander is actively involved with the training process and as a Surgical Attending Physician for the Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center. He's also a preceptor for the Midwestern University Medical School and has received many certifications and awards.He is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and Board Certified with the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.He has received the Phoenix's Top Docs award and the Guardian Angel award from Mercy Gilbert Medical Center.Throughout his career, Dr. Newswander has served in various roles on many medical boards, including board president. Dr. Newswander has served as Chief of Surgery at Gilbert Hospital and Chief of Staff at both Gilbert and Florence Hospitals.I started my practice to create a safe, friendly place where I could help people get back up and running without pain or discomfort.  My patients are my passion. Dr. Freestone completed his undergraduate B.S. degree at Brigham Young University in Biology/Zoology. He is a graduate of Des Moines University's College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Freestone completed a three-year surgical residency with the Henry Ford Health System at Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township, MI.Dr. Freestone is a founding partner of Marvel Foot & Ankle Centers.  Dr. Freestone is Board Certified with the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He enjoys mountain biking, traveling, and spending time with his family. Dr. Freestone, wife Rebecca, and their four children reside in Gilbert.No matter what the ailment, Dr. Freestone has always felt that educating a patient is just as important as treating the patient.
