Doug Farquhar, MD, MPH, is a board certified surgeon in otorhinolaryngology, head and neck surgery at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. He has expertise in ear, nose, and throat diseases and conditions, with particular specialty in nose and sinus conditions, as well as and skull base tumors and cancers.Dr. Farquhar earned his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania, while simultaneously obtaining a masters in public health. He completed his surgical internship and residency at the University of North Carolina, while also completing an NIH-funded research fellowship investigating head and neck cancers and sinus disease. During his residency, Dr. Farquhar honed particular expertise in sinus surgery and skull base surgery in an enfolded fellowship at the Savannah Sinus Institute. While at Thomas Jefferson, he helped to lead research into treatments for COVID-related smell loss. Dr. Farquhar has published over 50 peer-reviewed medical journal articles, as well as numerous other abstracts, textbook chapters, and has presented at numerous national conferences.Dr. Farquhar is a member of the North American Skull Base Society, the American Rhinologic Society, American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, and the American Medical Association.In his spare time, Dr. Farquhar enjoys spending time with his wife and newborn son, hiking, and gardening.Dr. Farquhar welcomes new patients and accepts most insurance plans.
