Dr. Vishwajeth Bhoopalam

Dr. Henry Cheng is board-certified in imaging and general cardiology. He earned his medical degree from the University of California at Los Angeles. Dr. Cheng completed an internal medicine residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD, and a cardiovascular medicine fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. In addition to general cardiology care, Dr. Cheng specializes in cardio-oncology, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology. He sees patients at the Chattanooga Citico office and at our Hixson office. Shailesh Malla, M.D. earned his medical degree from Tribhuyan University Institute of Medicine, the premier medical school in Nepal. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Jacobi Medical Center and his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Montefiore Medical Center in the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York. Prior to joining Piedmont Heart, Dr. Malla was a clinical cardiologist with ACG. Dr. Malla is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology who specializes in invasive cardiology, general and consultative cardiology, trans-thoracic and transesophogeal echocardiography, nuclear stress testing and diagnostic cardiac catheterization. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of the American College of Physicians. He has been involved in several research projects in the areas of congestive heart failure and echocardiography and has published several articles in scientific journals. He is an instructor for ACLS as well. Dr. Malla is accepting new patients and welcomes most major insurance plans. He received his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine and a Master’s of Public Policy, Concentration in Health Policy from Duke University Sanford School of Public Policy. He graduated summa cum laude from Georgetown University with a Bachelor’s of Science, Biology, where he had the highest GPA for all bachelor of science degrees.
