
Overview
Matthew Starr, MD, is certified in neurology and vascular neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is interim director of the UPMC Stroke Institute, director of the Vascular Neurology Fellowship, and an assistant professor of Neurology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He is also director of the Comprehensive Stroke Centers at UPMC Presbyterian and UPMC Mercy, working with large multidisciplinary groups to provide quality stroke care for patients with ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke. He received his medical degree from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine and completed his residency and fellowship at UPMC. Dr. Starr’s clinical and research interests include ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, focusing on cryptogenic stroke.
