I love endocrinology because of the way it explores and explains the complex interactions between different organ systems in our body. I value the opportunity I get to connect with patients and develop long-lasting, trusting relationships with them. My highest priority is to listen to my patients and understand their questions and concerns, provide them with necessary information and tools, and then work together as a team to develop a comprehensive, evidence-based treatment plan which is the most beneficial to them. I am also a member of the Endocrine Society. Outside of work, I enjoy listening to music and spending time with my husband and two daughters. My interest in medicine began as a child. My father was a physician and my mother was a nurse, so I grew up having a working knowledge of medicine. Since many conditions in endocrinology are chronic conditions, I get to know my patients very well and spend a lot of time teaching them about the benefits and side effects of the treatments that we pick. I find that the more that my patients know, the better they do. I have four children and enjoy playing soccer with them and being a soccer dad.
