Overview

We live in a noisy world, one in which sound and our hearing abilities shape the way we communicate and interact with one another. As an ear, nose, and throat doctor and otologist, I am privileged to provide medical and surgical care to patients with ear diseases and disorders of hearing and balance, including cochlear implants and other implantable hearing devices. Every patient presents their own unique circumstances and challenges, and I am committed to providing empathetic and individualized care to meet a patient’s unique needs. I value a strong relationship with my patients and try to treat every patient as I would my own family. As a clinician-scientist with interests in the fundamental mechanisms of hearing and verbal communication, I try to bring the same level of inquisitiveness to solving my patient’s problems that I use in all aspects of my professional life. When not seeing patients, I spend my research time trying to better understand how we hear and finding better ways to improve hearing and communication.

Being a physician fulfills my lifelong desire to be of service. I am fulfilled every day by helping to improve my patients’ quality of life through the diagnosis and treatment of ear diseases and skull base disorders. I take great pride in the mastery of my craft and the high standard of our teams. As an ENT doctor, otologist, and neurotologist, I enjoy serving patients of all ages from infancy to the senior years, and my expertise spans the full range of the medical and surgical management of complex ear diseases, balance disorders, and hearing disorders -- including performing cochlear implant surgery in adults and children. I value the development of strong patient-doctor relationships and am guided by the belief that every patient deserves the same compassion and high standards as I would expect for my own family. I am guided by gratitude, faith, and commitment in my professional life and in my role as a husband of over 20 years and father of a daughter and son. Dr. Francis is rated as a Distinguished provider by MediFind in the treatment of Infant Hearing Loss. His top areas of expertise are Hearing Loss, Acoustic Neuroma, Schwannoma, Mastoidectomy, and Endoscopy.

Hearing and balance are among the most fundamental ways people interact with the world. As an ENT doctor, otologist, and neurotologist, I am very fortunate to work in a profession that allows me to help patients having problems with these most basic functions. Every patient I work with presents a unique and challenging problem that needs a creative solution. Whether is it surgery to remove a complex tumor at the base of the skull, placing a cochlear implant to restore hearing to the deaf, or diagnosing a complex balance problem, I am motivated to work with my patients to come up with a custom solution to their personal problem. I measure my success by my patients’ improvement and satisfaction. Dr. Kaylie is rated as a Distinguished provider by MediFind in the treatment of Infant Hearing Loss. His top areas of expertise are Acoustic Neuroma, Schwannoma, Hearing Loss, Mastoidectomy, and Myringotomy.
