Dr. John M. Stamatos

John Stamatos, M.D., is a board-certified anesthesiologist and fellowship-trained pain management specialist at Orlin & Cohen. With over 30 years of experience in his field, Dr. Stamatos brings his extensive knowledge and expertise to each patient he treats, improving their quality of life with the latest treatments and minimally invasive techniques to reduce pain.

Before joining Orlin & Cohen, Dr. Stamatos served as the director of pain management at North Shore University Hospital and Syosset Hospital. He was also chief of pain management at the prestigious Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

In addition to his practice, Dr. Stamatos has authored two books, including the best-selling Painbuster: A Breakthrough 4-Step Program for Ending Chronic Pain, as well as several articles on spinal cord stimulation, cancer pain relief, anesthesiology, and best practices for prescribing opioids. An esteemed member of his field, he has shared his expertise as the keynote speaker with the National Chronic Pain Society, and presented to the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the American Academy of Pain Medicine, among others.
