It's important for me to educate patients so they feel more in control of their disease and their lives. | Why I entered medicine | Rheumatology is a very challenging specialty for physicians as well as for patients. The diseases are complex and encompass every field of medicine. Growing up in my community I was always grateful for the care given to me and my family. As a result, I wanted to provide my community medical care they needed, particularly those with challenging rheumatic illnesses. | Community involvement | Growing up in the Lehigh Valley, I enjoy participating in events with the Arthritis Foundation and running local races with my father. | Personal interests | Spending time with my family and friends. Philosophy of care | My goal is to provide the highest level of professional care in a compassionate manner. The ability to diagnose and treat often challenging autoimmune conditions, as well as additionally being able to treat other non-inflammatory musculoskeletal processes, continues to make my days interesting and enjoyable. | Community involvement | I have enjoyed my years being very active in youth sports programs. Particularly my coaching and administrative positions with youth basketball and baseball leagues. Now I enjoy watching those athletes I coached and my own children from the stands at high school sporting events. | Personal interests | I enjoy spending time with family and friends, such as taking trips with family and attending sporting events – especially at colleges our children attend.
