I am a pediatric cardiologist dedicated to caring for children with heart failure, cardiomyopathies, and those who require mechanical circulatory support. My focus includes managing complex conditions like dilated, restrictive, and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, as well as caring for children with single ventricle physiology, including those with Fontan circulation. I take a personal and compassionate approach, building strong relationships with both my patients and their families. My goal is to not only treat these challenging conditions but to provide comfort, support, and a sense of hope, all while working together to improve the lives of these incredible young patients. I also see children in the Duke Children's Health Center Cardiology Clinic. I understand that a diagnosis of heart disease in pregnancy or childhood is overwhelming, and I strive to provide families with the knowledge and resources to navigate this difficult time and prepare for the future. We discuss the differences in their child’s heart, the care and monitoring their child will need, and what heart disease means for their child’s life long-term. In some cases, I have the privilege to care for children and their families from before birth until they are adults. Fortunately, most children with heart disease do very well, and it brings me joy to help children with heart disease grow and thrive. I am the director of Duke Pediatric Noninvasive Cardiac Imaging and I am an attending physician in the Duke Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Center. I am an American citizen who was born in England and raised in Canada. I have lived in the United States since I received my undergraduate education at Cornell University.
