
Overview
Kenneth D. Vesio, MD, is a cardiologist and is certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a clinical assistant professor of medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine and completed his residency and fellowship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey where he also served as the Chief Medical Resident and Chief Subspecialty Fellow. Dr. Vesio has practiced at UPMC Shadyside Hospital since 1991 and joined the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute in 2013. Over the years, Dr. Vesio has served as co-director of the Noninvasive Cardiology Department and successfully completed the Examination of Special Competence in Adult Echocardiography. He has been actively involved in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows and has participated in numerous clinical trials. He was elected a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) in 1991. His clinical interests involve all aspects of cardiovascular disease. Dr. Vesio lives in the North Shore neighborhood of Pittsburgh with his wife. His two grown children also reside in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. Dr. Vesio is an avid exerciser with special interests in cycling and weight training. He enjoys travelling and is fluent in Italian.
