I enjoy general neurology, but have a particular interest in the rehabilitation of individuals with neurological disorders. I previously worked as a physical therapist in an orthopedic clinic in Troy, New York, for seven years. I fell in love with the anatomy of the nervous system during my physical therapy training and again in medical school.

I see a spectrum of neurological disorders but specialize in Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, and other disorders in which people have difficulty moving, either too much or too little. A lot of what I see are disorders that keep people from performing daily, routine activities that we don't even think of until we can't perform them anymore. I will take as much time as I need to figure out what is going on with my patients, and I value developing relationships with them as I work to diagnose and treat them. Movement disorders is one of the fields of neurology in which you can physically see the difference that changes in medication or in treatment have on your patients. For me, one of the most satisfying parts of practicing neurology is when patients come back and tell me they're able to do something they weren't able to do before – like walk without a walker or play tennis or golf.
