Overview
Mae W. Healy, D.O., is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) as well as Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI). Dr. Healy completed her residency in OB/GYN at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. She completed her fellowship in REI at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. Prior to joining SGF, Dr. Healy retired from the U.S. Navy as a Commander with her most recent position being the Division Director of REI at Naval Medical Center San Diego. Dr. Healy has also served as the Director, Assisted Reproductive Technology at Walter Reed. She values training the next generation of physicians, evidenced by her time as the Associate Fellowship Director at the National Institutes of Health for REI. Dr. Healy has been recognized for her excellence in teaching and patient care. As an avid researcher, Dr. Healy has contributed to numerous publications and presentations exploring topics such as access to fertility care for military families, intrauterine inseminations (IUI), and optimizing embryo transfer techniques, among many others. Dedicated to counseling patients on all the options and working together to decide the best way forward, Dr. Healy provides patient care at SGF’s Annapolis, Maryland, location. In her spare time, Dr. Healy enjoys hiking, kayaking, and spending time outdoors with her family.

Dr. Segars received his undergraduate degree from Duke University and earned his M.D. from Duke University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology and a clinical fellowship in reproductive endocrinology at Vanderbilt University. Dr. Segars performed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Laboratory of Molecular Growth Regulation at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. He joined the Johns Hopkins faculty in 2015. Before coming to Johns Hopkins, Dr. Segars was head of the Unit on Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development and a professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. Dr. Segars has published more than 160 peer-reviewed research articles and serves on the editorial boards of Reproductive Sciences, Molecular Human Reproduction, Seminars in Reproductive Medicine, and Fertility and Sterility. She continued on to the University of Colorado, Denver where she completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a 3 years fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. She then served as an Assistant Professor at University of Colorado for 2 years before moving back to Maryland. Dr. Roth is board certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. During her residency, Dr. Roth received several teaching awards and served as chief resident. During her fellowship and time as faculty at University of Colorado, she presented research at multiple national meetings and received three national research awards. She has published research on a range of fertility topics including polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and the impact of weight on reproductive hormones. Dr. Roth joined the practice in 2015.
