Clinical research consists of overseeing clinical studies of patients undergoing new treatments and therapies, and publishing articles in peer reviewed medical journals. My interest in medicine first grew from my experiences with family members who were ill. My training is in both general internal medicine and psychiatry. I supervise residents at Duke Outpatient Clinic and see patients in the solid organ transplant program for psychiatry. I believe in the essential nature of integrated care and extend that to the multiple areas in which I practice. My career interests center around the interplay of medicine and psychiatry, particularly in complex care settings. I consider my psychiatric practice to be psychotherapy-informed medication management. Outside of medicine, I enjoy running, watching and playing a variety of sports, listening to music, and traveling.
