Dr. Joseph P. Weiner
Overview
Joseph P. Weiner is a board-certified and fellowship-trained radiation oncologist at Atlantic Health System's Overlook Medical Center and CyberKnife Center. He is a member of various tumor boards for the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center. He is also the co-founder of the Prostate Cancer Multidisciplinary and Second Opinion Clinic at Overlook Medical Center. Dr. Weiner is an active member of the Gerald J. Glasser Brain Tumor Center as well.Dr. Weiner is trained to treat all oncologic conditions but has advanced fellowship training and a special interest in both prostate and brain tumors. He has published over 40 peer-reviewed articles on these topics, written numerous book chapters as well as given regional and national lectures at prominent oncologic conferences. Dr. Weiner was previously involved in the training of over 15 resident physicians to become attending Radiation Oncologists, as well as mentored numerous medical students seeking experience in oncology.Dr. Weiner has professional experience with multiple radiation delivery platforms, including fellowship training with the team that invented the CyberKnife Radiosurgery unit. He also has experience with gantry-based linear accelerators such as the Varian TrueBeam. He has previously worked with Proton Beam Therapy, both high-dose rate (HDR) and low-dose rate (LDR) Brachytherapy, and the Gamma Knife Radiosurgery unit. He is able to perform three-dimensional conformal radiation therapy (3DCRT), intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), volumetric-modulated arc therapy (VMAT), image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), and stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT).
