Dr. Rovak is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon with a fellowship and board certification in hand and microvascular surgery. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 1998 with honors and highest distinction. He went on to medical school at Duke University. Lt Col Henderson brings over 30 years of distinguished service to the United States Air Force, with a career that spans roles as an enlisted pharmacy technician, cadet, fighter pilot, and orthopedic hand surgeon. After enlisting in 1989, he earned an appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy, graduating in 1996. He went on to fly the F-15C as a mission commander based out of Kadena AB, Japan, and was awarded the Air Medal for over 100 hours of combat time patrolling the Northern No Fly Zone over Iraq during the events of September 11, 2001.Following his aviation career, Lt Col Henderson pursued medicine, earning his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in 2006. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Uniformed Health Education Consortium in San Antonio and a fellowship in Hand and Microvascular Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center. Since 2012, he has served at the U.S. Air Force Academy, where he has held leadership roles as Chief of Hand Surgery, Chief of Orthopedic Surgery, and Chief of Surgery for the 10th Medical Group.
