He is a surgical director of the Pediatric Kidney Transplant Program at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and is an assistant professor of surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from San Marcos University in Lima, Peru, and completed his residency at Guillermo Almenara Hospital in Lima, Peru. He is also experienced in autologous islet-cell transplantation for chronic pancreatitis. He has numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and is a member of several transplant societies including, ASTS, AST, IPTA, IRTA, TTS, and SPLIT.
