Overview
Robert Bashuk, MD is the Medical Director and lead Neurologist at The Concussion Center.
Dr. Bashuk earned his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1983 from Medical College of Georgia at Georgia Health Sciences University. He continued at MCG for his internship before completing his residency in Neurology from Emory University Hospital in 1987. Shortly after completing his residency,
Dr. Bashuk joined a local Neurology practice, formally known as Northwest Neurology. He practiced general Neurology for 30 years, helping in the management of migraine/headaches, memory disorders, epilepsy, stroke, and head injuries. In 2019 Northwest Neurology was acquired by Wellstar Hospital, where Dr. Bashuk continued to practice medicine until 2021 when he joined The Concussion Center as the Medical Director.
Dr. Bashuk aims to provide thorough evaluation of patients who have suffered head injuries with the hopes of reducing the length of time patients have to suffer from their symptoms. He oversees all diagnostic and treatment services performed at The Concussion Center which includes, but not limited to: Buffalo Concussion Treadmill Testing, Cognitive Evaluations/Diagnostics, Ocular-Motor/Vestibular Diagnostics, Electroencephalography (EEG), Nerve Conduction Velocity Studies/Electromyography (NCV/EMG) and the Headache/Migraine Management Program.
Dr. Bashuk utilizes an individualized approach for evaluation and management so that all areas of concern are addressed properly. This ensures each patient is thoroughly evaluated while also ensuring no unnecessary testing is performed.
In his spare time, Dr. Bashuk enjoys going to any Atlanta-based sporting event; especially the Atlanta Braves baseball and University of Georgia Football games. When not attending a sporting event you can find him spending time with his beloved wife of over 30 years.
The Concussion Center is an Atlanta-based medical practice that specializes in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients who have suffered a mild traumatic brain injury, known commonly as a concussion. Our center was built to provide a multi-disciplinary team approach to head injuries. Our goal for all patients is to ensure each person leaves our office with the understanding of their care plan to help them get better. We welcome new patients daily and we accept medical liens and most major insurances!.
