Dr. Ira J. Kohn

John Ramey, MD, is a board-certified urologist who provides care for men and women. He specializes in treating urologic conditions that include urinary tract infections, frequent urination, erectile dysfunction, Peyronie’s disease, kidney stones, overactive bladder, bladder cancer and kidney cancer. He also performs a variety of routine and advanced surgical procedures including the Rezum® procedure for treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia.|He has a clinical interest in laparoscopic and robotic surgery.|Board certified in urology; Dr. Ramey earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore. Although many patients require surgical management, others require medical management alone. Having all these tools, both operative and medical, makes the management of urologic patients challenging and interesting. My interest in urologic surgery also stems from the broad application of state-of-the-art technology. Whether it is robotic surgery, minimally invasive endourologic treatment of stones and tumors, or the latest treatment techniques for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BHP), I am proud to be able to offer these techniques. | Community involvement | I have participated in free prostate cancer screening clinics annually. | Personal interests | I enjoy the outdoors, fishing and hunting mostly, depending on the time of year.
