Dr. Jason Rovak

Originally from Minnesota, Dr. David M. Bierbrauer joined Cornerstone Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, a division of OCC, in 2011. He is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, whose primary interest is in hand and elbow surgery, as well as a secondary interest in trauma care and sports medicine. Dr. Bierbrauer is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, American Society for Surgery of the Hand, Western Orthopedic Association, and Colorado State Medical Society. Prior to working at Cornerstone Orthopedics, Dr. Bierbrauer graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology and Chemistry from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. He attended The Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University, where he was a Dean’s Award recipient. After medical school, Dr. Bierbrauer completed his residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago Hospital and his fellowship in Hand and Microvascular Surgery at the Christine M. Kleinert Institute in Louisville, KY. In 2011, he worked at Front Range Orthopedics in Colorado Springs from 2005-2011. As the official US Ski Team Physician, he has had the opportunity to travel internationally to France and Canada. Dr. Ky Kobayashi is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in conditions affecting the hand and upper extremities. He has a Certificate of Added Qualification in Surgery of the Hand and Sports Medicine. Dr. Kobayashi specializes in hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder surgery including microvascular surgery, arthroscopy, traumatic reconstruction, and joint replacement. Dr. Kobayashi is a distinguished graduate from the US Air Force Academy and the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic residency at the University of Connecticut as well as a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at Tufts Combined Hand Fellowship in Boston, MA. Dr. Kobayashi retired from the United States Air Force in 2014 with many decorations after several deployments to combat zones. He has extensive experience in combat casualty care and reconstruction. He has been staff and assistant program director for the Wilford Hall Air Force Orthopedic Residency Program in San Antonio, TX. He is actively involved in research & education and is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD. Dr. Kobayashi was elected to serve on the Board of Specialties for the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons as well as the Society of Military Orthopedic Surgeons for education.  He has been the team physician for the Air Force Academy sports programs and is currently a consultant for the Olympic Training Center. Dr. Karl Larsen is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand and upper extremity surgery. He holds the prestigious Certificate of Added Qualification in Surgery of the Hand and has been named a “Top Doc” by Colorado Springs Style magazine for eight consecutive years.He treats a wide range of conditions, including athletic injuries, overuse syndromes, elbow disorders, shoulder fractures, and complex hand trauma. Dr. Larsen earned his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, Maryland, and completed his orthopedic residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, followed by a fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery at the Indiana Hand Center.Dr. Larsen served in the U.S. Air Force and Air Force Reserve from 1989 to 2015, retiring as a Colonel. His military service included roles as a flight surgeon and orthopedic surgeon, leadership positions at the U.S. Air Force Academy, and deployments to Tibet and Iraq. His honors include the Air Force Special Operations Command Flight Surgeon of the Year and USAFA Clinical Surgeon of the Year, along with multiple military decorations.
