G. Sunny Sharma, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at UT Southwestern Medical Center. During his training, Dr. Sharma served as Chief Resident and was elected President of the Physiatrist-in-Training National Board of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He served as Team Physician for the Lawndale High School football team in Los Angeles, including their State Championship-winning season in 2018.He has delivered several national presentations and published multiple book chapters, including Percutaneous Needle Tenotomy and Tenex Health Therapy in the Rehabilitation Patient. His research has investigated the use of ultrasound-guided injections in the treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome.Dr. Sharma is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the Spine Intervention Society.
