Overview
Philosophy of care | My experience in caring for members of Congress and military leadership as well as treating combat casualties during Operation Iraqi Freedom augmented my sincere appreciation for how precious and vital our arms and hands are in everyday life. Now, my practice focuses exclusively on the treatment of hand, finger, wrist and upper extremity conditions. | Why I entered medicine | I became attracted to medicine in high school as my interest in science grew. I really enjoyed science classes, and medicine seemed to be the road map to channel that interest into making a difference in people’s lives. Early in medical school, I developed an interest in orthopedics. In medicine, similar personalities tend to coalesce in particular specialties. Orthopedic surgery is a specialty that provides a degree of immediate satisfaction in terms of making a difference.
