Following in their footsteps, I specializing in sports medicine, combining my own interest in athletics with a medical career. I realized sports medicine isn't just for athletes, but for everyone, to help us keep moving, and that exercise truly is medicine. As I advanced in my training, I met my future wife, a professional oboist. That exposed me to the many injuries musicians can experience. Musicians sometimes play through pain or injury due to the demanding nature of their work. I saw a need for improved medical care for this population as well as better communication about treatment options for many of their injuries. | Community involvement | I have covered multiple sporting events over the years, including races, marathons and high school/collegiate contests. More recently, I served as the team physician for Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island. I also enjoyed coaching Little League Baseball.
