Dr. Gregg Martyak

Dr. Ky Kobayashi is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in conditions affecting the hand and upper extremities. He has a Certificate of Added Qualification in Surgery of the Hand and Sports Medicine. Dr. Kobayashi specializes in hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder surgery including microvascular surgery, arthroscopy, traumatic reconstruction, and joint replacement. Dr. Kobayashi is a distinguished graduate from the US Air Force Academy and the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic residency at the University of Connecticut as well as a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at Tufts Combined Hand Fellowship in Boston, MA. Dr. Kobayashi retired from the United States Air Force in 2014 with many decorations after several deployments to combat zones. He has extensive experience in combat casualty care and reconstruction. He has been staff and assistant program director for the Wilford Hall Air Force Orthopedic Residency Program in San Antonio, TX. He is actively involved in research & education and is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD. Dr. Kobayashi was elected to serve on the Board of Specialties for the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons as well as the Society of Military Orthopedic Surgeons for education.  He has been the team physician for the Air Force Academy sports programs and is currently a consultant for the Olympic Training Center. Dr. Choudhry provides a full complement of upper extremity/hand care from the shoulder to fingertips. A Colorado native, he graduated from Overland High School in Aurora where he was awarded the Bausch & Lomb Science Award for his “Excellent Promise in the Field of Science.” He went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in molecular biology from the University of Denver and graduated Cum Laude. He then attended the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical School where he received the William Winter MD Award for his “Outstanding Performance in Orthopedic Surgery” as a senior medical student. He continued his passion for orthopedics by completing his residency at the University of Cincinnati and affiliated hospitals. As a graduating chief resident he was selected as the recipient of the Peter J. Stern MD award “in recognition for outstanding qualities in professionalism, patient care, and teaching.” He then decided to pursue subspecialty training and completed an Upper extremity/Hand fellowship at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in North Carolina. During fellowship he received the Fellow’s Clinical Science Silver Award by the Wake Forest Division of Surgical Sciences for his research on nerve injuries. Dr. Choudhry has several research endeavors that have been presented at national meetings and published in prestigous scientific journals. Dr. Karl Larsen is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand and upper extremity surgery. He holds the prestigious Certificate of Added Qualification in Surgery of the Hand and has been named a “Top Doc” by Colorado Springs Style magazine for eight consecutive years.He treats a wide range of conditions, including athletic injuries, overuse syndromes, elbow disorders, shoulder fractures, and complex hand trauma. Dr. Larsen earned his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, Maryland, and completed his orthopedic residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, followed by a fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery at the Indiana Hand Center.Dr. Larsen served in the U.S. Air Force and Air Force Reserve from 1989 to 2015, retiring as a Colonel. His military service included roles as a flight surgeon and orthopedic surgeon, leadership positions at the U.S. Air Force Academy, and deployments to Tibet and Iraq. His honors include the Air Force Special Operations Command Flight Surgeon of the Year and USAFA Clinical Surgeon of the Year, along with multiple military decorations.
