Dr. Kumar earned her undergraduate degree in neurobiology and physiology at the University of Maryland, College Park. She completed her medical degree at St. George’s University, where she was a member of the Iota Epsilon Alpha medical honor society. She completed her internal medicine residency at Rutgers New Jersey School of Medicine and her fellowship training in rheumatology at the Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, Louisiana.During her fellowship, Dr. Kumar participated in a wide range of clinical and translational research projects which have been recognized by the American College of Rheumatology, Rheumatology Alliance of Louisiana, Congress of Clinical Rheumatology, and the North American Young Rheumatology Investigator Forum.
