Dr. John H. Giesler

"Dr. Giesler earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his residency in Radiation Oncology at The M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He became board-certified in Radiation Oncology in 1992. Dr. Giesler has been practicing Radiation Oncology in the Metro-Atlanta area for 25 years. He is the co-medical director at the Southern Crescent Radiation Oncology Center in Riverdale, Georgia. He also continues to see patients at Piedmont Atlanta, Piedmont West, Piedmont Henry, and Piedmont Newnan Radiation Oncology Centers. Dr. Giesler has accumulated vast experience in an array of advanced radiation oncology technologies including IMRT, stereotatic body radiotherapy, stereotatic radiosurgery and Gamma knife radiation therapy. He also has extensive experience in brachytherapy, including the treatment of gynecologic and prostate malignancies with high-dose-rate Iridium-192 and low-dose-rate Iodine-125 seeds. Dr. Giesler served as Cancer Committee Chairman at the former Southern Regional Medical Center from 2000-2005. He has been an active participant and presenter in hundreds of multidisciplinary and specialty tumor conferences throughout his tenure in Atlanta. In 2016, Dr. Giesler was recognized by his peers and the Atlanta Magazine as a ""Top Doc"" in the specialty of Radiation Oncology. Dr. Giesler enjoys golf, cycling, and spending time with his three children Morgan, John John, and Matthew.".
