Dr. Stephen Y. Chan
Overview
Stephen Y. Chan MD, PhD, is a cardiologist and is certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is director for the Vascular Medicine Institute as well as director for the Center for Pulmonary Vascular Biology and Medicine. Dr. Chan is also a professor of medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of California San Francisco and completed his residency at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, followed by his fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Chan joined the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute in 2015. His clinical interests include basic and translational science. Dr. Chan has 98 peer-reviewed publications, 24 of which are original work, and is a member of the American Heart Association and the Pulmonary Hypertension Association.
