Philosophy of care | I believe in treating patients with respect and dignity. I explain to my patients their disease or recommended eye surgery in a thorough, matter-of-fact, sensible manner so it is fully understood. I never turn away an emergency patient. | Why I entered medicine | I always knew I would be a doctor, it was just a matter of what kind. I also knew it had to involve surgery. After getting some experience in different fields in medical school, I decided on ophthalmology. | Community involvement | I have been involved in many of my children's activities during their years in Lehighton Area School District. I chaperoned trips as often as I could, and volunteered with Brownies, dance and plays. Most recently I ended a seven-year commitment to the high school marching band as a member and officer in their booster club. | Personal interests | Outside of work I enjoy being with my family, gardening, fishing, traveling and drawing.
