He specializes in specialty orthopedic cases such as: fractures (including rib, scapula, proximal humerus, pelvis ring, acetabular, lower extremity, and foot & ankle), foot and ankle problems, malunions (fractures that heal with angulation, rotation, or shortening), nonunion (fractures that don't heal or heal with pain), post traumatic arthritis, amputations, osteomyelitis, and leg length asymmetry (one leg shorter or longer than the other). His awards include Distinguished Visiting Professor, Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, OTA/DOD 2008; best clinical instructor, orthopedic surgery, Grand Rapids Education and Research Program (GRMEP) in 2015 and orthopedic surgery, University of Arizona – Phoenix 2017. He has been Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at GRMEP/MSU 2007-20125 and University of Arizona – Phoenix 2016-2019. He has served as president and committee chair of numerous medical societies and editor of numerous orthopedic journals and books.Dr. Jones' care philosophy is to utilize his years of learning, experience, and teaching to provide the best individual care for a patient based upon their expectations, job/profession, age, needs and wants.
