Dr. David Huang is a psychiatrist specializing in behavioral health with a strong commitment to helping children, adolescents, and families navigate mental health challenges and reach their full potential. Inspired by watching his mother care for patients in her clinic in the Bronx at a young age, Dr. Huang developed an early passion for medicine and the meaningful impact compassionate healthcare can have on individuals and families. Drawn to psychiatry because of the opportunity to build lasting relationships with patients, Dr. Huang values taking the time to understand each person as an individual and tailoring care to their unique needs. More than 20 years ago, he chose AtlantiCare for his residency training because of the organization’s strong commitment to improving the lives of people throughout the community — a mission that continues to guide his work today. Dr. Huang primarily works with children and their families, believing that early intervention can profoundly influence lifelong health and well-being. In addition to direct patient care, he serves as Medical Director of Outpatient Services, collaborating with departmental leadership to promote patient safety, high-quality care, and ongoing process improvement. He is passionate about helping patients build resilience and celebrating milestones both big and small, from academic achievements to personal growth and independence. In addition to his clinical leadership, Dr. Huang is deeply involved in teaching and mentoring residents and medical students through lectures and supervision sessions. He values the opportunity to help shape the next generation of psychiatrists and healthcare providers. Dr. Huang also participates in community outreach initiatives through the APEG Employee Resource Group, where he enjoys sharing and celebrating Asian culture with colleagues and the broader community.
