Overview
Dr. David Soo earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. He completed his family medicine residency at St. Michael Hospital-Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Dr. Soo, who is board certified in family medicine, decided he wanted to be a doctor in 4th grade when his health class studied anatomy. With an interest in all types of clinical medicine, he treats a wide range of acute and chronic conditions, from the common cold to serious health problems, calling in specialists when necessary. His approach to patient care focuses on always being a patient advocate and taking collaborative approach to health. It is important for him to get to know his patients as well as possible so he can understand as many factors as possible that can affect their ability to take care of themselves. A detailed and thorough physician, Dr. Soo wants his patients to feel that he is also caring and empathetic. Prompted by his belief that medical genetics will play an increasing role in patient care in the future, he emphasizes keeping up to date on clinical advances and getting to know patients’ families. In his spare time, Dr. Soo’s favorite hobbies are swimming, biking and skiing.
