I am a neurologist with particular interest and fellowship training in movement disorders. Some of the most common movement disorders are Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor and dystonia. I have found treatment of movement disorders to be a very rewarding experience. Depending on the condition, there are some very effective medications and other treatments, like botulinum toxin injections, that can be quite effective. In addition, “Deep Brain Stimulation,” a surgery providing electrical stimulation to discrete areas of the brain, can also be very helpful. My approach is to offer these often helpful therapies when appropriate with the primary focus being improvement in a patient’s quality of life, which is paramount.
