Overview
Margaret “Geri” Keane is a gastroenterologist specializing in Therapeutic and Bariatric endoscopy. Her doctorate explored novel diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for the management of pancreatic cysts. Following her gastroenterology fellowship, Dr. Keane completed a fellowship in hepatology and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography/endoscopic ultrasound at King’s College London, followed by a two-year advanced endoscopy fellowship at Johns Hopkins. She is certified in general internal medicine, gastroenterology and hepatology by the Joint Royal Colleges of Physicians Training Board of the United Kingdom. She is a member of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom and is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She is a recipient of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy 2022 Endoscopic Training Award, which enabled her to gain dedicated training in bariatric endoscopy at Mohak bariatric center in Indore, India, one of the busiest bariatric centers in the world. Dr. Keane’s research interests include Bariatric Endoscopy, Endoscopic innovation and early diagnostic strategies for pancreatic and biliary tract cancers including the management of pancreatic cysts. She has published more than 70 original articles, editorials, book chapters and review articles.

His procedural expertise includes endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), interventional EUS, submucosal endoscopy, POEM/achalasia, endoscopic mucosal resection, endoscopic submucosal dissection, luminal stenting, large polyp resection and Barrett’s therapy, among others.
