Dr. Ioannis Skaribas earned his medical degree at Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki Medical School in Greece and completed his internship in anesthesiology at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) in Houston where he was named Intern of the Year. He continued at BCM to complete his residency in anesthesiology and a fellowship in pain medicine. Board certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine, Dr. Skaribas specializes in pain management. His clinical interests include spinal cord stimulation, neuromodulation, interventional pain management, back pain and discogenic pain (pain from a damaged vertebral disc). In practice since 1996, Dr. Skarbias treats adult patients with honesty and compassion. He is committed to helping diagnose chronic pain conditions and providing advanced treatments that will enable his patients to return to healthy productive lives. He speaks Greek. Dr. Skaribas is a clinical assistant professor in pain medicine at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) Medical School and on the board of directors of the Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Surgery Center. He has served as both a clinical instructor and assistant professor of anesthesiology at BCM. The author of a number of textbook chapters and journal manuscripts, Dr. Skaribas is a member of local, national and international professional medical societies including the Texas Pain Society, Harris County Medical Society, International Neuromodulation Society, American Board of Anesthesiology and American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. Dr. Skaribas is married and has children. Outside of the office, he enjoys spending time with his family, snowboarding and windsurfing whenever possible.

He completed his residency in anesthesiology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He then completed a fellowship in interventional pain management in Boston at Harvard Medical School-Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where he was named Outstanding Pain Fellow of the Year. Dr. Hasoon, who has been in practice since 2015, is board certified in both anesthesiology and pain management. His special clinical interests are minimally invasive therapies for spinal stenosis, compression fractures, peripheral nerve stimulation and spinal cord stimulation. His practice philosophy centers on a personalized and multidisciplinary approach to pain management that reduces his patients’ level of pain while improving their quality of life. Patients describe him as a professional and caring physician who listens, doesn’t rush them through appointments and explains conditions and answers questions in understandable terms. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Hasoon has published extensively in peer-reviewed medical journals on topics, including migraine headaches, pelvic pain, low back pain, peripheral nerve stimulation and spinal cord stimulation therapy. He is director of the pain fellowship program at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. Dr. Hasoon is a member of the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, North American Neuromodulation Society, American Society of Anesthesiology and Texas Society of Anesthesiology.
