I chose to practice both critical care medicine and pulmonary medicine because of the depth and complexity of the issues involved in caring for patients with severe disease. I also appreciate the privilege of providing information and support to families who are dealing with the hardship of watching a loved one go through critical illness. I am certified in Critical Care Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine. I completed my internal medicine residency at the University of Minnesota in 2000 after graduating from Mayo Medical School (Rochester) in 1997. I then completed a fellowship in pulmonary/critical care medicine and received a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Minnesota in 2003. In my practice, above all, I strive to provide excellent, thorough care of each individual patient. I am a strong believer in establishing a partnership that takes into account each individual's unique situation and listening attentively to his or her concerns. I am a member of the American Thoracic Society (ATS).
