Dr. Jeffrey S. Montgomery

After graduating from the University of Leeds, Dr. Ghani completed basic surgical training in Edinburgh followed by urological surgery training in London. He was awarded a Master of Surgery thesis from the University of London for research on percutaneous renal stone surgery. Following completion of sub-specialist training in Endourology at the Stone Unit at Guy’s Hospital, London, Dr. Ghani was awarded The Urology Foundation Scholarship and undertook fellowship training in robotic surgery at the Vattikuti Urology Institute, Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit.He joined the University of Michigan in 2013 and leads the Endourology program at the Ann Arbor VA Healthcare System. He treats patients with kidney problems: stones, cancer and obstruction. Dr Ghani has authored over 200 peer-reviewed articles, and his research focuses on endoscopic stone surgery and quality improvement. Specifically, he has been advancing a Dusting technique for ureteroscopy and has extramural funding to study laser lithotripsy in the laboratory.
