Dr. Judy R. Mangion is the associate director of the Echocardiography Laboratory at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH). She then completed two fellowships: one in Cardiovascular Disease at Baystate Medical Center, Tufts University and the other in advanced echocardiography at Hartford Hospital, University of Connecticut. Dr. Mangion is board certified in cardiology and echocardiography.Her clinical interests include valvular heart disease, pericardial diseases and diseases affecting the right ventricle and aorta, advanced cardiovascular ultrasound imaging including 3D echocardiography, quality assurance in cardiovascular ultrasound, strain, contrast echocardiography, multimodality cardiovascular imaging, and all aspects of clinical cardiology. The author of over 40 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, Dr. Mangion’s research focuses on the safety and efficacy of ultrasound contrast agents, barriers to the appropriate utilization of contrast echocardiography and myocardial contrast perfusion echocardiography for assessing cardiac transplant rejection. Her research has received funding from the National Institutes of Health.
