Overview
I grew up in the midwest but decided to venture south for college. I graduated from Hendrix College with a bachelors in Biology in 1992. From there I entered the United States Peace Corps for a tour in Mauritania, West Africa and followed that up with medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. I did my residency in pediatrics at the Marshfield Clinic/ St. Joseph's Hospital in central Wisconsin.I've since had the privilege of practicing pediatrics in Iowa for over 20 years in both the primary care clinic and hospital settings, including over 17 years of NICU experience. This increasingly uncommon perspective of both sides of patient care has been integral to helping me manage more complex medical issues and better anticipate potential outcomes.In my spare time, I'm a photography enthusiast and my husband and I both love to travel. We've been blessed to visit over a dozen countries. We have a daughter who grew up to be a writer and makes us proud.
