Dr. Julie Y. Patel earned her medical degree from Louisiana State University Health School of Medicine in New Orleans. She completed her residency in internal medicine and fellowship in immunology, allergy and rheumatology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Board certified in rheumatology, allergy and immunology, Dr. Patel has been in practice in Houston since 1996. Fluent in Gujarati, she treats patients 16 years and older. Dr. Patel’s practice philosophy is to take the time needed to listen to each patient’s concerns. She offers state-of-the- art care in both specialties of allergy/immunology and rheumatology. A Fellow of the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology (FAAAAI) and of the American College of Rheumatology (FACR), Dr. Patel served as chief of rheumatology at Ben Taub Hospital in Houston and assistant professor and associate program director of immunology, allergy and rheumatology at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Patel lives in the Westchase area of Houston with her husband and daughter.
