Dr. Laura C. Taylor

A Board-certified fellowship-trained specialist in men’s health, Dr. Laura Taylor treats a wide range of issues, including erectile dysfunction, male incontinence, Peyronie’s disease, male infertility and other male sexual dysfunction. She draws satisfaction from helping people get their quality of life back. “The classic example is the prostate cancer survivor,” she explains. “Many believe that the price to pay for a cure is having to live with the side effects of their treatment for the rest of their lives.” Such aftereffects often include sexual dysfunction that strains relationships and incontinence that interrupts activities of everyday life. “Other men chalk it up to getting older, something they have to live with. Age is just a number. I’ve helped men in their 90s. It’s not unusual for a patient or spouse to give me a hug and say I saved their marriage,” she says. Dr. Taylor holds a biology degree from the University of South Florida, Tampa, where she graduated magna cum laude. She earned a master’s in medical sciences and her medical degree from USF Morsani College of Medicine. She completed her surgery internship and urology residency at Temple University Hospital and Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia. She returned to USF for a fellowship in andrology – urology focused on men’s health – and prosthetics. During her fellowship, she was invited to Istanbul as an international guest surgeon, to gain experience with new and innovative devices for erectile dysfunction and stress incontinence treatment. She has co-authored numerous publications, presented at conferences and is active in peer education, which she plans to expand at AtlantiCare. She has also been an invited guest faculty member at surgical teaching events, such as a recent penile implant masterclass at Johns Hopkins University. From a family of pharmacists, she was exposed to health care at an early age. “I have a natural tendency to nurture others and I have always enjoyed hobbies that involve use of my hands. I soon realized that a life in surgery was a perfect fit for me. Philosophy of Care “Urology has a high impact potential. We can significantly improve quality of life and help people get back to doing the things they love.” Personal Interests Dr. Taylor lives in Linwood with her husband and two sons. They enjoy golf and other forms of outdoor exercise. A native Floridian, she loves being near the water.
