Overview
Matthew S. Pihlblad MD, specializes in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus and is board certified in Ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is the fellowship director of the pediatric ophthalmology fellowship and is an Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University at Buffalo, Ross Eye Institute, followed by his fellowship at UCLA, Jules Stein Eye Institute. Dr. Pihlblad’s clinical interests include complex strabismus in adults and children, retinopathy of prematurity and fellow/resident education, and his research interests include innovative strabismus surgery techniques including use of advanced technology in adults and children. He has presented at international, national and regional scientific meetings and is a member of the World Society of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (WSPOS), American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS) and the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO).
