"The beauty of family medicine is taking care of patients and families throughout the life span - from ""newborn babies to little old ladies (and men)."" While I considered many specialties in medical school, a fourth-year elective rotation at the Menominee Tribal Clinic in Keshena, WI, and associated Shawano Medical Center made it clear that family medicine was the place for me. I’m here to help you grow and thrive throughout your life. Medicine is actually my second career, as I worked as a chemical engineer for 10 years before entering medical school. As an engineer, I like to solve technical puzzles, and the human body presents many puzzles. But as experience has taught me, there isn’t a pill or a procedure to solve every problem. Attitude, optimism, self-motivation, social support systems and beliefs, however, can have a big impact on health and recovery. In other words, the art of medicine can be equally important as the science of medicine.".
