Dr. Robert P. Edwards

Robert P. Edwards, MD, is the Chair of Ob/Gyn/RS at  UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital. Dr. Edwards is co-leader of the UPMC Gynecologic Cancer Program, and a professor of medicine in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.Dr. Edwards specializes in all aspects of gynecologic oncology, and has a particular interest in intraperitoneal chemotherapy. and immunotherapty.Dr. Edwards is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, as well as gynecologic oncology. He received an undergraduate degree at Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, Pa., and received a medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Edwards completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC, and a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.Dr. Edwards is a member of professional organizations including the University of Pittsburgh Physicians Board of Directors, American Medical Association, American College of Surgeons, American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, American Association for Cancer Research, American Society of Clinical Oncology, Society of Gynecologic Oncologists, American Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology, International Society for Biological Therapy of Cancer, American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the International Gynecologic Cancer Society.
