Overview
A native of Georgia, Dr. Salman Mian earned his undergraduate degree at Georgia Tech and his medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia. He completed his internship at Emory University and his residency in anesthesiology at the University of Alabama, where he was involved with research on new therapies in pain management and improving acute and postoperative pain. He completed a fellowship in interventional pain management at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Board certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine, Dr. Mian has been in practice since 2008. He treats chronic pain through techniques that reduce pain levels, including nerve blocks or injections. Dr. Mian’s special training during his fellowship included interventional procedures as well as medication management. The training utilized an interdisciplinary approach to the management of chronic pain that focuses on rehabilitation, treatment of mood disorders, cancer pain, headache management, and lumbar and cervical spine pain. In his leisure time, Dr. Mian enjoys gardening, running and traveling with his wife and three children.

He is director of the pain fellowship program at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.
